Quina or Argentine Sandalwood
Specie Latin: Myroxylon poruiferum
Species Description: Heartwood color is deep red, sometimes with purple highlights and high natural luster. Spicy scent, a source of balsam used in perfumes. The wood has an interlocked grain and for me it turns very easily. The wood
feels like it has a deep oily feeling. It is not at all as oily as Cocobolo, but feels a bit wet even if it is dry. A heavy wood that smells different when turning.
